Obituary of Charles Richard Eksal, New Waterford | V.J McGillivray Funeral Homes - New Waterford Location » It is with great sadness we announce the death of Charles Richard Eksal of New Waterford on February 4, 2020 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney. Charlie was the son of the late Anna and Charles Eksal Sr. He is survived by his wife, Mary Eksal. Charlie is also predeceased by his loving son, Charles Daniel Eksal. He was the last of six siblings which include his sisters, Anne MacMillan, Mary Hutzol (William), Josephine O’Brien (Wallace) and brothers, Raymond Eksal (Hilda) and Richard Eksal (Violet). He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Charlie was born in New Waterford and lived there his entire life. He worked for many years at Sydney Auto Parts in the machine shop, rebuilding car and truck engines and then, at the Lingan Mine from where he retired. Charlie was best known for his auto mechanics' abilities but he also loved to hunt and fish. A special thanks to Tom and Dorothy Gale and the extended family of Stephen and Katie Horyl Sr. for their kindness, love, and support to Charlie over Vjmcgillivray.ca
